Following implementation of the new membership scheme by inclusion of the national members of most national societies as members of the ESM, we have intensified our efforts to improve the membership benefits.
In this process, our Treasurer, Angela Shore, was able to negotiate a contract with the publisher of our official journal, Journal of Vascular Research, which makes articles in this journal available online, clearly stating the sponsorship of the ESM.
Besides the beneficial effect for ESM members, we hope that this scheme will increase the visibility of our journal and lead to more and earlier citations. This may help to raise the impact factor and make the journal more attractive again as a platform to publish microcirculatory and vascular biology related research.
